The SNCC’s focus on youth development provides dynamic, out-of-school programs for children and young adolescents, which provide them with meaningful opportunities to enrich themselves. Each of the integrated components in our out-of-school programming is designed to provide a consistent, safe, stable, and stimulating environment for at-risk children and teens.
SNCC programs for youth/teens include our:
- After-school Programming, offering elementary and middle school students recreation and enrichment through partnerships with the City’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Open Hand Theater, and Syracuse University homework tutors;
- Teen Programming, which offers neighborhood teens a safe and engaging environment, with access to positive adult role models and educational presentations (safe sex, healthy relationships, positive behavior), on weekday evenings;
- Universal Pre-K, offered on-site by our component agency Catholic Charities;
- Respite Programming and Life Skills Coaching, offered to youth with developmental disabilities and emotional challenges by our component agency Catholic Charities.
